The diameter is 7.25" or 18.4cm. So whatever chainring will fit in there. I'm sorry I don't have a chainring to match up to it at the moment!

I've got a set of 729s- cheap and they take a beating!! What year are those forks? I've heard they revamped them in 2011 to bring the quality back up to par with the old style italian-made ones! 888s are heavy, but they also house upwards of 200ml more oil in each side versus the likes of the 40s. I've always liked the old 888rcs man.... Sick looking bike though!!

Not sure man, they're a few years old. They are about the same weight as a set of chromags, but not sure on the metal type. I know they can take a shit kicking though.
